Area Profile

We are located in the heart of Long Stratton, in a Grade II Listed Georgian building on The Plain, opposite the Village Sign, which depicts the historic Sexton’s Wheel, to be found in St Mary’s Church. Long Stratton lies about 10 miles South of Norwich, astride the A140 Norwich to Ipswich Road. The village, which has a population of about 4,500, provides a wide range of shops and other amenities including a Supermarket, Convenience Store with Post Office, Pharmacy, Garage/Filling Station, Public Houses, Coffee Shops, Takeaways, Restaurants, Library, Health Centre, Doctors’ Surgery, Dental Surgeries, Optician, Veterinary Surgery, Nursery/Infant, Junior and High Schools, a Sports/Leisure Centre and a Park/Playing Field with Multi-Use Games Area and Skatepark. Long Stratton is also the centre of Local Government for the area, with the South Norfolk Council offices located in the village. Further major residential development is planned over the next ten years, combined with the construction of an A140 By-Pass.

There is good public transport, with a half-hourly bus service to Norwich, and a frequent 90 minute rail service to London Liverpool Street from Diss Station, just 10 miles to the South, with good car parking available. The village acts as a service centre for the surrounding smaller villages, including Tharston and Hapton, Wacton, Great Moulton, Aslacton, the Forncetts, the Pulhams, Hardwick, Shelton, Hempnall, Tasburgh, Newton Flotman, Flordon, Saxlingham Nethergate, Tacolneston and the Tivetshalls, all within about a 5 mile radius and covered by our Office.
